Figure 8s: How to Improve your Dribbling Skills with "The Figure 8 Soccer Drill"
If you don’t have cones, grab two socks, two water bottles, two shirts, two shoes, anything you can find in your house and place them a foot or two apart and take small touches around the objects. The pattern you should be creating around the objects should look like an eight. When going around the objects, focus on one foot at a time. Then when you feel comfortable, you can begin to use only the outside of your foot or only the inside.
This quick and easy drill will work on the quality of your touch and the control you have over the ball. All you need is a few feet of space, two objects and a soccer ball!

This drill will work on getting used to using all parts of the foot and improving your control over the ball.

Grab your soccer ball and head towards an empty wall or door in your house. Pass the ball to the empty area with enough power that it will bounce back towards you. This drill will help improve your passing skills, touch and accuracy. Make sure to practice with your dominant foot and your non-dominant foot, give both equal attention.

Sole roles can improve control and balance but it also is a move that can help you get away from a defender in a game. Simply place the sole of your foot on top of the ball and roll the ball across your body. If your left foot is your dominant foot, you will be rolling it to the right, if your right foot is your dominant foot, you will be rolling it to the left.
You can also take any open space and learn new moves. Tutorials on scissors, step-overs, v-turns, l-turns, pull backs, cruyff turns, etc. can all be found on Youtube. Getting yourself familiar with these turns will create muscle memory making it easier to perform these moves during a game.
Improving your game during the winter season is easy as long as you have a few feet of open space and a soccer ball.
