How would we describe adidas World Cup Jerseys? In a word, Iconic. Adidas shaped the memories for soccer fans around the world through these unforgettable designs, and history repaid them with unforgettable moments to boot. Our editorial team came together to create a list of our favorite adidas World Cup jerseys in anticipation of the next batch in 2026.
Gabby: 2022 Spain Away Jersey
If you’ve read any of our other jersey rankings, it should be no surprise that a blue jersey is my absolute favorite. The design, featuring a combination of light blue and dark blue, makes this jersey so visually appealing. The red and orange stripes on the shoulder, representing the country’s colors, are a brilliant addition to the jersey.

Ryan: 2018 Mexico Away Jersey
As a U.S. Soccer fan, I never thought I’d come close to wearing a Mexico jersey, but it almost happened in 2018. While many Mexico fans might favor the 2022 away kit, I’ve always preferred the 2018 version with its similar color palette. The darker green and red horizontal stripes give it a retro vibe, and even though the crest was only about 25 years old at the time, it was the one I grew up with, so it felt classic to me.

Gabby: 2014 Japan Home Jersey
The simplicity of this jersey is what makes it one of my favorites. There’s not much going on, but it’s also not entirely plain. The red pop of color on the sleeve, paired with the royal blue color and a few streaks of white on the shoulders, really brings it all together.

Gabby: 2010 Germany Away Jersey
If anyone ever said black jerseys aren’t amazing, they’re lying to you. I love a simple, classic black jersey. The hints of red and gold make the jersey look clean and fresh. Personally, I think a black jersey will always be a bit more intimidating than a simple color, which is always a bonus.

Joseph: 2006 France Away Jersey
For France, it was all about Zidane in 2006. His career-ending red card ultimately overshadowed his deft and brilliant penalty kick in the final. The shot of him in that white Teamgeist jersey with red and blue accents, walking down the tunnel past the game’s ultimate prize, remains one of the most haunting images in soccer history.

Ryan: 1998 France Home Jersey
The jerseys of the champions always become memorable, but France '98 seems to stick in my mind more than most. France's first World Cup triumph, on home soil no less, solidified it among the most iconic jerseys. I will always remember all-time greats like Zidane and Henry in that classic French royal blue, with red and white horizontal stripes across the torso and a collar and cuffs to match.

Joseph: 1994 Argentina Away Jersey
Argentina’s 1994 away jersey will forever be linked with Maradona’s final World Cup goal and the resulting celebration. The deep blue base featured a subtle “AFA” design and a diamond pattern on the right chest. It remains a favorite among collectors everywhere, especially with Maradona’s name and famous number 10.

Joseph: 1990 West Germany Home Jersey
The West Germans clinched their third World Cup title in 1990, thanks to the outstanding attacking output of Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme, Jürgen Klinsmann, and Rudi Völler, who together scored 13 of their side’s 16 goals. Their team was the epitome of 'look good, play good,' as their white top and asymmetrical flag-inspired design caught the attention of soccer fans for its bold take on a classic look. Bonus points for the adidas Trefoil logo.
