Music has a funny way of embedding itself deep within the ethos of soccer fans. From Milan to Manchester, soccer teams have found tunes that resonate with their supporters in various ways, so we put together a playlist full of our favorites!

Shots - LMFAO ft. Lil Jon
About a dozen years ago, I made a trip to Kansas City. I had heard that the new Sporting Park, one of the first soccer-specific stadiums in MLS, was a special place for a match. I had seen several matches in the UK, but my pro match experiences in the US were limited to MLS matches in oversized American football stadiums. I attended a Sporting KC game, and they had the usual supporters section like most MLS clubs, but when the speakers blared the chorus to Shots, the entire crowd erupted, clapping and chanting along. Even without the prompt of the speakers, at times the crowd would burst out in song. This atmosphere made me feel like I was in the UK again. This chant is, of course, used in many other stadiums, but all three pro soccer teams in Kansas City use it right before a dangerous set piece.
Joseph Reina’s Club Anthem:
Sarà perché ti amo - Ricchi e Poveri
This romantic ballad initially seems so out of place in a soccer stadium. It's not until you hear 75,000 Milanese screaming it at the top of their lungs that it makes sense. Thankfully, it went viral on TikTok last year, allowing soccer fans worldwide to experience, albeit through a screen, the sight and sound of the Curva Sud in full voice.
