Men's Soccer is Ready for an Exciting Olympic Semifinal

The Olympic tournament is just starting to heat up as the men’s soccer teams kick off the semifinals today at 12 p.m. ET.

Morocco vs Spain: 12 p.m. ET

After dominating against the USA and pulling off an impressive 4-0 win, Morocco has not looked better this entire tournament. With seven goals scored in their last two games, they are firing from all angles and making each of them count.

Soufine Rahimi continued to plow through teams as he scored his fifth goal of the tournament against the Americans. Spain must be ready to contain and shut him down, but have to be aware of the fact that Morocco has five other goal scorers in their lineup.

Spain had a similar time in the quarterfinals, breezing their way past Japan in a 3-0 win. With seven different goal scorers, Spain is dangerous from all over the field.

Fermín López will look to continue his goal scoring as he has three goals this tournament. But, Morocco must watch Abel Ruiz as he has had a total of 10 shots throughout the Olympics, despite only having one goal.

There is no doubt either of these teams can win the gold medal. We will see who makes it through to the finals.

France vs Egypt: 3 p.m. ET

France made their way past Argentina 1-0 in the quarterfinals despite being outplayed and outshot. With only 30.8% of possession, the host country was able to fend off any offensive attacks from Argentina and defend their lead.

France will be without Enzo Millot in the semifinals as he received a red card in added time at the end of the game. With seven goal scorers, France can put one into the back of the net from anywhere at any time.

After beating Paraguay in a penalty kick shootout, Egypt would like to build off the momentum of that thrilling win.

Egypt has lacked the goal scoring ability France has had throughout the tournament, only scoring four goals in four games. But, with a solid defense, it might only take one goal to move onto the finals.

Despite being the underdogs, there is no reason to count them out against France.

Egypt looks to win a medal for the first time in history while France looks to win one for the first time since 1984. Who will move on?
