Everyone loves a FIFA World Cup™ ball, but which one is best? As Soccer Post prepares for 2026, we want to hear from you. Our creative team picked their favorites, but now it’s your turn to decide. Vote in the poll below to help us crown the best World Cup ball of all time!
Gabby: France ‘98 - Tricolore
I love a good pop of color, so it only makes sense that my favorite ball is the adidas Tricolore from the 1998 France tournament. The first ball made with color in it caught my eye because of the dominant blue color (my favorite color) with bits of red and white in the design. I also believe they did a perfect job naming this ball “Tricolore,” which means three colors in French.
Joe: Germany ‘06 - +Teamgeist
The aesthetics of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ live long in my memory. As a five-year-old, I adored the iconic jerseys, the perfect blend of veteran icons and youthful excellence, and especially, the +Teamgeist ball, especially the Berlin edition made for the final. It was simple yet fresh and elegant — a black and white soccer ball with flashes of gold to remind everyone exactly what was at stake. The Brazuca came close in 2014, but the +Teamgeist will never be beaten.
Ryan: Brazil ‘14 - Brazuca
A color explosion! That’s how I saw the Brazuca. As the cleats on the wall became brighter and more colorful, so did the WC ball. And look at that crazy panel design! Can you believe it is made of only 6 panels? It’s no wonder that this was the best-selling soccer ball in history! Every player from 4 to 54 wanted one. Can the new WC ball surpass it? We shall see!
Keep an eye out for adidas as they launch the brand new ball for next year's FIFA World Cup™ tomorrow, Friday, October 3rd!
