The New Nike Tiempo Maestro Redesign: When Heritage Feeds Innovation

As the game continues to grow, Nike continues to evolve. The much-anticipated new Nike Tiempo Maestro has finally released as we say goodbye to the iconic Tiempo Legend after 10 generations.

The release of the Maestro brings a new look and features, including some never-before-seen technology.

The Maestro introduces a new soleplate as one of the most significant changes. Instead of a one-piece traditional soleplate, it has been switched to a two-piece. The split soleplate allows for the shoe’s upper to wrap entirely around the foot. The stud configuration on the soleplate has also changed, featuring two central studs, unlike the Legend, which had one. Two studs improve the player’s traction and acceleration.

Along with the soleplate, the upper has some new exciting features. Nike has introduced Techleather, a premium, soft, and flexible material meant to hug the player’s foot. This new material is the next evolution of synthetic leather in the soccer world. This new material absorbs 29% less water, making it able to remain a lightweight boot even in the rain. The wave-like ridges on the upper improve ball control compared to the old Tiempo Legend.

The integrated net tongue has been passed on from the Legend to the Maestro.

The Maestro comes in elite, academy, and club versions.

Another version of the Tiempo Maestro, the Tiempo Ligera, has an upper made from natural cow leather. The Ligera is a good option for players who prefer a more traditional cleat while having a lower price point. There is no elite version; the highest model is the pro. The Liguera comes in a regular tongue version and the currently very popular  fold-over tongue version.

Similar to the Tiempo Legend, the Tiempo Maestro is perfect for a player who focuses on traction and control for quick turns and improved ball control.
