Off the Post: Soccer Tracks We're Listening To - Goal Celebrations Songs

By: Gabrielle Nordstrom

Music is one of the most influential things in the world. Whether it’s classic rock, country, or EDM, it brings people together from every corner of the globe and can tell a million different stories. Here at Soccer Post, we decided to create a Spotify playlist devoted to fun goal celebration songs. Our favorites are highlighted below.

Gabrielle Nordstrom’s Goal Celebration Song:

Magic In The Air - Magic System, Chawki

This 2014 release was a hit in France and Belgium ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Some might even remember it being used in the 2018 FIFA World Cup every time France scored, making many appearances across football stadiums and capturing the hearts of many fans. The up-beat song is perfect for a goal celebration song due to the positive rhythm that makes anyone want to get up and dance.

Joseph Reina’s Goal Celebration Song:

Miss Alissa - Eagles of Death Metal

Nike's pre-2014 World Cup marketing made this an easy decision. Those iconic commercials, flooded with legends including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Andrea Pirlo, Andrés Iniesta, and Zlatan Ibrahimović to name just a few, were so fun to watch ad nauseam. The soundtrack for that campaign was Miss Alissa by Eagles of Death Metal, and instantly, the song controlled the thoughts of every soccer-obsessed youngster thanks to its infectious and repetitive nature which lends itself brilliantly to sport.

Ryan Aubert’s Goal Celebration Song:

Tick Tick Boom - The Hives

While the majority of sports fans probably can not tell you the name of the band, this lesser-known sports anthem seems to be recognized pretty quickly when it gets to the end of the chorus. If you haven’t heard it in-stadium you’ve probably heard it in a quick montage of highlights while watching sports on TV. This Swedish garage rock band is loud and has the swagger we love to see after scoring a goal. The lyrics of the whole song lend themselves to soccer…

I saw you hesitating, waiting too much

Until it slipped through your hands

but the hook is what does it all…

'Cause I have done it before

And I can do it some more

I got my eye on the score

I'm gonna cut to the core

It's too late, it's too soon, or is it?

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, BOOM!

Music provides endless opportunities to add more fun into situations, like scoring a huge goal during your soccer game. If you could have a goal celebration song, what would it be?
