We're Kicking off the 2022 National Women's Soccer League!

Fans of women’s soccer know that the tri-state area, here on the east
coast, is one of the best places on earth to catch a NWSL game. The
NJ/NY Gotham FC team is bringing reinvigorated momentum to the
table and creating a buzz around women’s sports and the beautiful
game.


Formally known as Sky Blue, NJ/NY Gotham FC is a founding member
of the National Women’s Soccer League, and its roster boasts some of
the most talented and gritty players in history. Carli Lloyd’s final season
took place at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, minutes away from Soccer
Post headquarters. Carli’s brand of play brought new meaning to the
term “Jersey Girl” and inspired thousands of fans near and far.


With national team players like Kriste Mewis, Ashlyn Harris, Iamani
Dorsey, and Midge Purce on the field, Gotham fans are sure to see the
highest level of women’s soccer performances. Capric Dydasco, whose
parents visit Soccer Post when they’re in town, won the NWSL
Defender of the Year in 2021 and Ifeoma Onumonu is a current leader
on the Nigerian National Team as well NJ/NY Gotham FC. The talent
pool runs deep on this roster.


The team has come far in since their start in 2006 and humble
beginnings playing on Rutger’s University practice fields. Their home
field is now Red Bull’s Arena in Harrison, NJ; easily accessible by public
transportation or car. So, grab your friends, plan your tailgate and
spend some time with these women at the top of their game!
